Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions.

Alzheimer’s is chronic and can last for years or be lifelong. Brain cell connections and the cells themselves degenerate and die, eventually destroying memory and other important mental functions.  No cure exists, but medications and management strategies such as Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy may temporarily improve symptoms. Alzheimer’s requires a medical diagnosis.

Symptoms:

Memory loss and confusion are the main symptoms.

Treatments:

Treatment can help, but this condition can’t be cured.
